Our mission is to foster sustainable development in Culebra by identifying and leveraging resources strengthening initiatives and creating impactful projects. We commit to promoting a Culture of Peace and transformative Education that enhances emotional well-being while contributing to the cultural environmental and socioeconomic development of the community.

Proyecto ecoKitTM - young people were trained in the construction of wooden houses that serve as laboratories in which they experienced sowing harvesting irrigation systems and renewable energy among others. These greenhouses were installed in a community Ecological S in order to function as nurseries with rainwater and renewable energy. The ecoKit promotes play related to planting and nature exposure to experimentation self-experimentation and self-sustainability in the water collection and agro-ecological schools
Mujeres de Islas has transformed an abandoned school lunchroom into a state of the art industrial community kitchen that provides food in emergencies as part of being Culebras Community Hub and Resilient Center and every week to feed the most vulnerable populations in Culebra. We also provide monthly workshops on everything from baking good making pasta paella using our freshly caught fish as well as our harvested produce and do all in a completely solar energized kitchen where even the ice is produced by the sun!
