National Asian Pacific American Womens Forum

Field organizing - organizing aapi women nationally, with staff in new york, georgia, illinois, florida, texas, and washington d.c., to learn more about issues of reproductive rights and health, economic justice, and immigrant rights, and to speak up on behalf of their communities for policy changes. Engaging with registered and potential voters to encourage them to participate in voting in all elections and educating themselves and others in learning about issues and candidates.

Movement building - strengthening relationships with organizations that work in strategic movement spaces to advance our mission, working together for our common goals. These partnerships range from asian american community-based organizations, economic and worker justice organizations, and reproductive justice and rights partner organizations.

Strategic communications - providing thought leadership through writing and placing op-eds in the media, amplifying the voices of aapi women leaders who speak out about important issues. Participating in ongoing conversation, online and in news sources, about the issues that impact aapi women.

Policy - researching and advocating around policies impacting reproductive health and rights, and racial and economic justice, developing and advancing policies that protect the rights of all aapi women and girls, relating with and educating policy makers regarding the well-being of aapi women and girls. Most policy work is federal, but napawf also monitors and speaks to state-level and local policies impacting aapi women and girls.

Research - our efforts to amplify the needs of aapi women in the policy and advocacy space require that we share data which highlight their unique experiences and provide the evidence necessary to advocate for systemic changes. To this effect, one of the greatest challenges we face is the lack of representative and disaggregated data for aapis on topics ranging from healthcare access to pay parity. Because of this gaping hole in research on the fastest growing racial group in the us, napawf has needed to conduct its own research to provide data to support our policy, advocacy, and community organizing. We also work with our members on the ground in our analysis of their lived experiences, inform them of issues, and utilize their base networks to disseminate messages and education.
