Mission

The ncafp identifies, articulates, and helps advance american foreign policy interests from a nonpartisan perspective within the framework of political realism.

Programs

2 programs

Believing that an informed public is vital to a democratic society, the ncafp offers public and private educational programs on a wide variety of foreign policy issues. The focus of this programming includes topics such as us-japan relations, us-korea relations, transatlantic relations, middle east and nuclear deterrence. The ncafp also identifies, trains and promotes the next generation of foreign policy professionals by creating programs that directly connect emerging leaders to the ncafp's network of senior scholars and diplomats so that each generation can learn from the other. These next generation programs focus on northern ireland and the korean peninsula. The korean peninsula program includes scholars from around the world.

Expenses: $231K

The ncafp regularly brings together authoritative participants from taiwan, mainland china, and the united states to discuss cross-taiwan strait relations in off-the-record (track ii) conversations. These discussions are a critical channel to address misperceptions and to explore peaceful diplomatic resolutions to cross-strait challenges.
