Mission
The new harmony project is a national arts organization whose mission is to nurture writers in the development of scripts and new works that interrogate the complexity of hope. Through artist-centered programming, we care for writers so they can change the world.
Programs
1 program
We expanded our alumni programming to include additional opportunities for connection and continuing education. In addition to our semi-regular "digital dinners," where where writers and artists from across the county can gather to share a meal, update, and gain inspiration from one another, we offered several workshops led by professionals designed for writers at any stage of their career who have questions about the business part of "show business", the exploration of different techniques, and the steps it takes to get a show from first draft to production in both the commercial and non-profit theatre. Workshops and seminars included: stage and screen with matt williams (roseanne, home improvement, the cosby show), writing for audio, dramaturgy roundtable and a conversation about career development with phaedra michelle scott (nhp's resident dramaturg), and 6 business of the theatre workshops each focusing on a different aspect of the business, led by blair russell (commercial producer and nhp board co-chair).
