Promote physical fitness and health to north carolinians through amateur sports.

Cycle north carolina (cnc) consists of three bicycle tours in north carolina. They are not races, but rather, recreational treks across scenic back roads. Cnc is designed to promote physical fitness, good health and the scenic beauty of north carolina. Held three times annually, more than 2,600 individuals participate.

Various small programs and activities undertaken to promote physical fitness and health to north carolinians through amateur sports, attract national and international events and conferences to north carolina, assist other amateur sporting events in north carolina, and increase public awareness of the olympic movement and amateur sports in north carolina.

Nc amateur sports received a grant from the nc office of state budget and management. The objectives for the osbm funds are: expand and enhance the state games; increase awareness and marketing efforts for the state games, with an emphasis on targeting rural areas of the state where participation has historically been lower; provide registration and travel stipends through an application process to teams and individuals who are not financially able to register and/or travel to the state games; improve coaching and officiating for youth sports in the state of north carolina by providing training and certification programs with the state games; administer the youth sports grant fund created by the sports wagering legislation.
