Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Season 35 wasn't just about our Signature Series productions-it also brought beloved annual traditions, vibrant live music experiences, and Playfest to our audiences. The holiday season sparkled with our beloved adaptation of A Christmas Carol, a timeless tale of redemption and holiday spirit that continues to warm hearts year after year. For young audiences and families, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs offered a fresh, hilarious twist on the classic fairy tale, inviting children to see the story from a whole new perspective. We also introduced Playfest, a series of short, thought-provoking plays that showcased emerging voices and experimental storytelling, providing a platform for fresh narratives in an intimate setting. In addition, we continued our popular Cabaret Series in the courtyard, transforming our outdoor space into a lively, music-filled retreat under the stars. Audiences were treated to stellar performances by local favorites, including The Sounds of Soul, Michael Andrew, Chase Padgett, The Vocalitas, and Ebony Carlson, creating unforgettable evenings of live entertainment. This programming complemented our Signature Series, ensuring a well-rounded theatrical experience that celebrated storytelling in all its forms-whether through drama, laughter, music, or innovation.
Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Season 35 Educational Programming continued to inspire and engage students of all ages through a dynamic mix of learning and performance opportunities. Our Summer Camps provided young artists with hands-on theater training, while The Young Company offered aspiring performers the chance to develop their skills in a professional setting. Shakespeare With Heart, our inclusive program, brought together students of all abilities to collaborate on a Shakespeare production, fostering creativity and connection. Additionally, our Educational Classes and School Workshops brought theater into the classroom, using performance to enhance literacy, confidence, and a love for storytelling. Through these programs, we nurtured the next generation of artists and theater lovers, making the magic of live performance accessible to all.
