Residential and supportive housing services for people with mental illness - see program service accomplishments described in schedule o.rhd's residential services offer individuals with mental illnesses a variety of effective and innovative resources, such as creative arts therapies and the companion model, all geared toward helping them live as independently as possible within their communities. Offerings range from simple residential group living to independent housing. Some living models offer a higher level of guidance to provide care for individuals with a dual diagnosis, or more fragile medical conditions. These services are offered in 55 rhd programs located in delaware, new jersey, north carolina, and pennsylvania. Program service accomplishments include:rhd's wister street hosted its annual friends and family event in august 2023, celebrating community and connection. Highlights included bbq, music, children's activities, and a special ceremony honoring program director nicole brown for 25 years of service. Wister street provides therapeutic residential support for individuals with persistent mental illness and forensic histories, helping participants build essential life skills for independence.october 2023 marked the 20th anniversary of rhd's varsity crest program. The celebration of this momentous occasion included north carolina barbecue, nothing bundt cakes, rhd swag bags, and touching remarks from rhd leadership and a varsity crest participant. The participant expressed her gratitude for all who helped her get back on her feet after experiencing homelessness. Varsity crest, north carolina's first rhd program in the state, has provided a unique and innovative approach to supervised living since 2003. Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, residents live in a clustered apartment setting while working toward developing life skills and increasing their self-reliance.in may 2024, the staff of rhd's christine gibson peer support house (cgpsh) attended house at the hill day for mental health at the state capitol steps in harrisburg, pa. Cgpsh aims to reduce justice involvement for people with mental health illness by decreasing their length of stay in jail or in a hospital, minimizing reincarceration, and improving connections to services. The program offers residents the opportunity to be empowered and guided by certified peer specialists who have lived experience with mental health illness, substance use, and/or legal system involvement.

Primary care, behavioral health, and other outpatient services - see program service accomplishments described in schedule o.rhd provides a variety of behavioral health, addiction treatment, and recovery services, ranging from intensive inpatient therapy, outpatient mental health counseling, assertive community treatment, and intensive case management, to inpatient treatment for people diagnosed with co-occurring mental illnesses and addictions. These services are provided to individuals across 27 programs in delaware, iowa, louisiana, pennsylvania, and tennessee. Program service accomplishments include:in october 2023, emily nichols, executive director of rhd's family practice and counseling network (fpcn) received recognition as a healthcare power player by metro philadelphia. Fpcn is comprised of five federally qualified health centers in philadelphia, pa, and is the largest nurse-led health care network in the country. Since 1992, it has provided primary care, integrated and outpatient behavioral health care, prenatal care, family planning services, dental care, mind/body services, community outreach, advocacy, and more to over 16,500 people annually in under-resourced neighborhoods. In july 2023, rhd launched pa start allegheny, a groundbreaking crisis prevention and intervention program supporting individuals aged 6 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd), autism spectrum disorder, and co-occurring behavioral health needs. This initiative, in collaboration with allegheny county department of human services, pa office of development programs, and other partners, uses the start model (systemic, therapeutic, assessment, resources, and treatment) to improve outcomes by connecting existing services, fostering collaboration, emphasizing trauma-informed approaches and a strengths-based philosophy.rhd's lower merion counseling & mobile services (lmcms) has provided comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services for over 50 years. In spring 2024, lmcms introduced just-in-time scheduling for psychiatric appointments. This new system allows participants and families to schedule appointments within 3-5 business days of their request, significantly reducing wait times, improving access to services, and decreasing the likelihood of medication gaps for individuals in care. Lmcms has also continued to balance in-person and telehealth services. The mental health outpatient program has expanded its group offerings, significantly reduced its waitlist, and enhanced its capacity to support the community.in february 2024, rhd's womanspace philadelphia opened womanspace empower, a new facility in germantown dedicated to supporting women facing homelessness and addiction. As the only residential treatment program for chronically homeless, dually diagnosed women in the region, womanspace is part of philadelphia's journey of hope project. In may 2024, rhd's mobile crisis intervention unit (mciu) in new orleans demonstrated its mission to provide compassionate, community-centered responses to behavioral health crises. When a 911 call reported a young woman at risk of suicide, mciu director tyesha davis-rhodes led a life-saving intervention, ensuring the woman's safety through empathy and collaboration with community partners. This highlights the vital role of the mciu, which handled 3,000 behavioral health crises in its first year. In may 2024, a national espn and espn2 commercial during wnba games featuring the indiana fever spotlighted the mciu's innovative approach to mental health care.

Rhd's comprehensive social services programming also includes homelessness, veterans, children, employment, and more. These services were provided to individuals in six programs in new jersey, and pennsylvania.program service accomplishments include:street2feet program offers essential day shelter and outreach services to the homeless community in monroe county, pa. Through partnerships like bombas' giving campaign, which donates socks for every item sold, street2feet received 7,500 high-quality socks in february 2024 to provide comfort and protection for participants. The program also partnered with clothing brands like tommy hilfiger, whose donations were inspired by a former participant's success story. With organized, accessible clothing distributions, street2feet continues to empower individuals experiencing homelessness, fostering dignity, resilience, and community through compassionate support.the center for creative works (ccw) experienced resounding success at the outsider art fair, held at the metropolitan pavilion in new york city, for four days in february and march 2024. Marking its sixth year exhibiting at the fair, ccw showcased their extraordinarily talented artists specializing in "self-taught art or "art brut" genres that highlight unconventional art by self-taught, and often, neurodivergent artists. During the event, 31 ccw artists captivated attendees with their exceptional works, resulting in a remarkable $26,000 in total sales. Furthermore, exhibits featuring ccw artists garnered widespread recognition from esteemed publications, including the wall street journal, in the new york times, and brutjournal. Ccw is an arts-based day program for individuals with intellectual disabilities with locations in wynnewood and philadelphia, pa.
