Sangre De Cristo Volunteers For Community Inc

Volunteers sponsor programs for families and children. The holiday giving program provided $25 gift cards and other items to 97 children designated in need by schools in Pueblo county. Volunteers sponsor an annual easter egg hunt at the VFC Community Center. Volunteers hide eggs and children hunt for them and receive candy and prizes. 65 children participated in 2025.

Volunteers sponsor a variety of projects to enhance community spirit including a community garden, teacher appreciation day, monthly cardboard recycling, host twice-weekly lunch for senior citizens provided by the Senior Resource Development Agency, donation-based yoga twice-weekly, donation-based self-defense classes twice-weekly, highway cleanup in conjunction with the Lions Club and Colorado Dept. of Transportation, volunteering in elementary school to help with reading and math, and trail system maintenance and improvement work.
