Programs

Housing:cap's housing programs provided stability to over 1,249 households a year through services such as emergency, transitional, rapid, rehousing and permanent housing programs. These households consisted of a total of 3,637 individuals. The program also provides assistance for homeless, short-term assistance, homeless prevention, and other wrap around services to assist persons in need of housing.
Food programs:the food & nutrition programs include food shelf and senior nutrition. The food shelf utilizes a client-choice model to provide a 10-day supply of food each calendar month. The food shelf also delivers food to senior housing buildings and provides pop-up food distributions in scott, carver and dakota counties. The food shelf provided 74,086 residents with 2,700,000 pounds of food. The senior nutrition program continues to provide affordable, well-balanced meals to elderly and disabled persons in congregate settings and home delivered meals to home bound individuals. Senior nutrition provided 134,966 nutritious, hot mid-day meals to 1,014 seniors throughout scott, carver and dakota counties.
Energy program: the energy assistance program helps eligible households with energy bill payment assistance, home energy crisis intervention, outreach, energy advocacy, information about utility consumer rights, and referrals. Energy assistance program provided support to 20,142 households in scott, carver and dakota counties.
Community programs: the community programs provides case management and resource navigation to families participating in the following services: parents helping parents, crisis nursery, and mental health education events. Seasonal support includes backpack distribution, hope for the holidays for families and seniors, soccer programming, dia de los ninos, and eid celebration. The community service programs provided support to 4,262 individuals in scott, carver and dakota counties.
Other program services: chore program assisted 179 seniors with house cleaning, yard work, snow removal, and minor home repair and modification, to assist seniors with aging in place in scott, carver and dakota counties.
