Exhibition by Ilana Harris-BabouUnder My Feet by Ilana Harris-Babou transformed Storefront into an immersive homage to the artists upbringing in Central Brooklyn. Through layered sound, image, and video installations, the exhibition recreated her childhood landscapeProspect Lefferts Gardens, East Flatbush, and Crown Heightscentering Afro-Caribbean immigrant communities.Harris-Babou spotlighted neighborhood institutions like the African Record Centre and Lefferts Gardens Montessori, recognizing their roles in fostering Afro-diasporic knowledge and autonomy. IT IS A GOOD PROJECT AND SHOULD BE BUILTExhibition by Fred Schmidt-ArenalesThis exhibition presented a three-channel video installation interrogating the $57 billion Texas Coastal Barrier Project, known as the Ike Dike. Fred Schmidt-Arenales used documentary and speculative storytelling to explore the psychological and bureaucratic underpinnings of this massive coastal infrastructure effort.By juxtaposing real governmental hearings with fictionalized interactions between bureaucratic avatars, the project illuminated the murky processes shaping environmental policy and urban development.
