4 families is a tool for academy 4 church partners to encourage and build community among families in local schools, particularly the under-resourced. We offer workshops that start with parenting and expand to other topics such as financial literacy, leadership, english as a second language, and other topics targeted to the specific community's needs.the objective of this program is to equip members with knowledge and skills they need. Our primary topic is parenting. The program also seeks to build community with the parents, so they have others they can depend on encourage one another.we served 19 families through this program.
Leaders 5 helps first graders with their reading skills while providing 5th graders leadership and service opportunities. We engaged about 1,800 first graders in reading while providing a mentoring/tutoring opportunity for approximately 1,800 5th grade students who were able to put into practice the leadershiop principles they learned in 4th grade. In addition, 5th graders worked together to do service projects in their communities positvely impacting thousands of people. The program meets once a month during the school year for 90 minutes.
Through its full circle scholars program, academy 4 awarded 2 scholarships to students who were 4th graders in the program, came back to serve as high school students, and went through the application process.
