Teach the truth tours - the teach the truth tours program is dedicated to expanding the teaching of black history in florida by providing students with impactful, immersive experiences at key historical sites throughout the state. This program covers essential expenses, including bus transportation, hotel accommodations, meals, tour guides, and tour supplies, to ensure each tour is accessible and enriching for all students. Additional elements, such as permits, site access fees, and marketing, along with printed materials and audio/visual equipment, enhance the learning experience. Support for staff, volunteers, first aid supplies, refreshments, and training sessions maintains a safe and engaging environment.
Teach the truth garden - the teach the truth garden program is a dedicated initiative to preserve and maintain a living space that educates the community on historical and cultural significance through hands-on engagement with nature. Program expenses cover contracted workers, a dedicated garden manager, and essential supplies for upkeep, such as vehicle and equipment rentals. Additional resources include tools, seeds, soil, fertilizers, and irrigation systems to sustain plant health. Site improvements, security measures, and waste management ensure the garden's longevity, while community engagement efforts, including workshops and educational materials, make the garden an interactive educational resource for all visitors. This program fosters community connection, cultural awareness, and environmental stewardship.
Other programs: education, rosewood park, books, merch, hourly garden maintenance and research.
