The Shepherds House

Men's long-term discipleship & habilitation program is a free, residential in-house, nine-month to two-year six-phase program. We have 25 residents in our program from the ages of 18 to 80. Life-controlling issues dealt with in the phases may include financial, legal, addiction, physical, and mental health issues. Program classes (1300 hours/year) are taught by staff, volunteers, trained professionals, pastors, and educators that include addiction recovery, anger management, dbt, reality therapy & choice theory, dealing with grief and shame, relapse prevention, sexual addiction, bible study, and outdoor activity therapies. Residents participate in outside recovery meetings, work programs, church, and community service projects during their programs. Each resident has a mentor from the community, an in-house discipleship partner, and access to private therapeutic sessions. Our men have the opportunity to work on completing their geds, go to college, or train for jobs as they move through the phases. In-house, they perform the duties of caring for their home including cooking, cleaning, general maintenance of the house, property, and vehicles, assisting with homeless services, and monitoring security. Shm provides their meals (27,375/year), clothing and shelter (10,950 nights/year) during their program and as they re-integrate into the community. Noncash food vehicle donations in the amount of 141,444 were received during the fiscal year to be used for the kitchen and all areas of ministry.

Abi's house, which is shepherd's house women & children's long-term program is a free, residential, nine-month to two-year, six-phase program. We have a 9-10 bed home for women and their children. Life controlling issues and patterns dealt with in the different phases of the program may include financial, legal, addiction, physical, relational, and mental health issues. Program classes (1300 hours/year) are taught by staff, volunteers, trained professionals, pastors, and educators. These classes include life skills, anger management, psycho-education, parenting skills, nutrition, health, bible study, faith, outdoor activity therapies, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and other trauma based therapies among other modalities. During their programs, residents participate in outside recovery meetings, faith communities, and community service projects. Our women have the opportunity to work on completing their ged's, go to college, or train for jobs as they move through the phases. In-house, they perform the duties of caring for their home including cooking, cleaning, recycling, general maintenance of the house, and gardening. Shm provides their dinner meals (2,592/year), clothing, hygiene and shelter (3,295 nights/year) during their program and as they re-integrate into functional living in society. Additionally, during weekends, we accommodate more children as they visit their moms in the program.

Expenses: 111,699 project share (shepherd's house aid & relief effort) has established and maintained trusting relationships with over 550 unique unhoused individuals and has created working relationships with fellow local service providers by entering into coordinated efforts to provide continuum of care for unhoused community members. This includes working with mobile medical care, behavioral health, housing, case management, addiction recovery, domestic violence prevention, child welfare and local law enforcement agencies. Emergency supplies including food, water, clothing, hygiene, and sheltering resources are also distributed to unhoused community members. 203 different types of camping gear, 498 jackets and 1991 gallons of propane have been dispersed in addition to food, water, clothing, and hygiene supplies that are offered daily. Expenses: 931,547 from july 2023 to june 2024, the franklin avenue shelter operated as a 24/7 temporary low-barrier shelter for vulnerable adults and families in central oregon. During this period, we provided approximately 22229 overnight beds?and, on average, 60 unique individuals each month. On average, 34 guests participated in case management services each month.?? With the support of community partners, 23 individuals secured permanent housing. Throughout this time, we served over 18,754 meals to our guests. Expenses: 953,030 on november 15, 2023, shepherd's house ministries ("shm") opened a new facility in redmond, oregon, its redmond center ("sh redmond"). Sh redmond has operated every day since its opening, through june 30, 2024, and beyond. Sh redmond is a permanent facility located at 1350 s. Hwy 97, redmond oregon. Services at sh redmond: since its opening date, sh redmond has provided overnight shelter every day to men, women, children and pets. Sh redmond offers 24 single men's beds, 12 single women's beds and 3 family rooms for a capacity of 50 overnight guests. The shelter also provides meals, bedding, clean clothing, showers, and toiletries. Also, since its opening, case management assistance and referral information are provided to help guests locate permanent housing, supportive transitional housing, access to health treatment and substance recovery support, employment, and other services addressing specialized needs. Since february 5, 2024, through june 30, 2024, and beyond, sh redmond has expanded its services to 24/7, now offering a habilitation program that addresses substance recovery, mental wellness, physical health and the need for community connection. Also, 24/7 service includes meal service to day use guests and daytime office hours by partner service providers. Daytime services are supported by an intern program consisting of 4-5 graduates of shm's men's recovery program. These interns reside in a separate dormitory at sh redmond. From opening in november 2023 through june 30, 2024, we sheltered 307 unique individuals who collectively received a total of 8700 overnight stays. During that same period, sh redmond provided 23,000 meals to its overnight and day use guests. As of june 30, 2024, seventy-three (73) sh redmond guests transitioned from our shelter to permanent housing, transitional programs, reconnection with family and/or other stable or rehabilitative living situations. Expenses: 52,546 revenues: 54,790 community homes are available to program graduates. We have two homes that provide "forever housing" for sixteen graduates of the men's long-term discipleship & habilitation program. It is a community of men living together as a family pursuing a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle. The men commit to honor shepherd's house ministries mission as they create and maintain a safe and healing environment; staying connected with our programs, holding each other accountable, continuing with outside meetings, church connections and mentor meetings. Graduates live independently, sharing the expenses and responsibilities of their home while practicing life skills as they integrate into the community at large. Expenses: 76,240 shepherd's house's shower truck has provided an environment of safety and generosity for over 234 unique individuals while they get a shower. These weekly events have become a hub for connecting with case managers, with other service providers and developing connections with volunteers and staff alike. Over the past year the shower truck has provided over 1000 showers. In addition, 2836 items of clothing, consisting primarily of socks and underwear, have been distributed. During these events 4310 hygiene materials and 1693 meals were given to those who needed them.
