HEATLH INSURANCE: UNITED SIKHS has proudly been helping community members throughout Queens, NY gain access to affordable health insurance since 2013. Eligible community members are enrolled through the New York State of Health marketplace with the assistance from the UNITED SIKHS Navigator program free of charge.

MICHIGANS NEWCOMERS POPULATION: Provide critical support to Michigans newcomer population by facilitating their successful settlement within the state. The initiative played a pivotal role in connecting individuals and families with essential services, while also raising awareness about the wide range of community resources available to them. Through targeted outreach, education, and direct assistance, the program helped ensure that newcomers were informed, empowered, and equipped to navigate their new environment with confidence and stability

NYC CARE PROGRAM: As part of the public education efforts for the NYC Care Program, this work successfully helped increase awareness among eligible New Yorkers about the comprehensive health care services available to them through the program. The initiative focused on educating underserved communities about their rights and options, guiding them through the enrollment process, and providing personalized support. Additionally, it facilitated the scheduling of appointments with financial counselors to conduct eligibility screenings, ensuring that individuals received the assistance they needed to access quality, affordable health care through NYC Care.

MEDICAL INFORMATION:UNITED SIKHS delivered culturally relevant, accessible messaging and community engagement strategies to disproportionately impacted populations, increasing awareness and confidence in COVID-19 vaccines, improving understanding of Long COVID, and promoting uptake of Influenza vaccinations.

IMMIGRANT RIGHTS: UNITED SIKHS has successfully organized immigration rights workshops to educate participants on legal resources and protections, and implemented ELS pilot programs that improved language proficiency and built confidence among immigrants in navigating everyday interactions and essential services
