Uwcg owns and operates two commercial office buildings as community service centers and leases space to unaffiliated organizations at below market rates to support and expand the exempt efforts of those organizations. Any nonprofit organization can book meeting facilities at these sites.

Uwcg leads the read2succeed initiative, which includes the tutoring programs read2succeed and aarp foundation experience corps. Read united addresses literacy challenges facing central georgia by recruiting community volunteers to tutor kindergarten through third grade students. Reading proficiently by the end of third grade is the most important predictor of high school graduation and carreer success. The read2succeed program recruits volunteers 18 years of age and older who will tutor students for at least an hour a week. Aarp foundation experience corps finds mentors 50 yeras of age or older to tutor those students in reading. The uwcg prepares at-risk pre-school children and yound students through first steps and parents as teachers initiatives.
