To provide funding to support "junior staff," who are participants that completed the job training portion of programming but would benefit from additional mental health and wellness support before they exit. These graduates will provide assistance with go healthy activities, including snack and meal preparation, helping on the art floor, in the gallery, at special events, and will be trained to give tours of the facility. Additionally, junior staffers will continue to receive the full array of social services and go healthy activities.

HEALTH, GENERAL

GO HEALTHY, THE PROJECT FOR WHICH FUNDING IS REQUESTED, WILL HELP VAN GO SERVE A MINIMUM OF 10 AT-RISK OLDER TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS (AGES 18-24), A POPULATION ESPECIALLY AT RISK DURING THE PANDEMIC. GO HEALTHY IS VAN GOS HEALTH AND WELLNESS INITIATIVE THAT, IN A TYPICAL YEAR, PROVIDES 5,000 SNACKS, 750 SUMMER LUNCHES, AND 120 NUTRITION LESSONS. GO HEALTHY INCLUDES THE IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE, TEACHES STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES, AND COVERS OVERALL WELLBEING VIA 50 HEALTHY LIVING SESSIONS, MANY OF WHICH ARE DELIVERED BY COMMUNITY TOPIC EXPERTS.
