Yoga Alliance Registry

Yoga Alliance supported and collaborated with organizations such as Prison Yoga Project and Challenge to Change to evaluate the impact of yoga on participants' mental and physical health, as a tool to advocate for institutions to make a sustained investment in yoga as a critical service. Participant outcomes, while varying individually, consistently showed measurable improvements in reported sleep quality, perceived stress, and anxiety management. Yoga Alliance will use aggregated data from these and other impact evaluations to advocate for yoga to be included in more social sector programs and environments.

Yoga Alliance is partnering with organizations working to integrate yoga into other sectors such as healthcare, as a means to improve overall health and wellness. Yoga Alliance is collaborating with YogaX at Stanford Psychiatry on research to assess experiences, perspectives, barriers, and facilitators to integrating yoga into healthcare. This initiative seeks to advance yoga as a recognized, valued, and reimbursable therapeutic tool in clinical settings.
