Women and girls empowerment:at the ywca, we also prioritize women and girls' empowerment. For approximately 350 children, we offer a nationally accredited early education program through our children's learning children, before and after-school care for elementary-age students, and remote learning options for those affected by school shutdowns.we operated a summer day camp on a reduced basis for children age preschool through high school with activities that include art, theater, swim, and gymnastics. Our girls empowered through meaningful support program (gems) provides leadership development, academic assistance, mentoring, and stem-related projects for african american and latina girls attending white plains schools. We also offer y-leaders that provides leadership development workshops to young women, and economic empowerment, that provides digital skills workshops to women.

Racial justice & civil rights:our commitment to racial justice and civil rights runs deep. We recently launched the westchester center for racial equity, a dedicated space for advancing racial equity in westchester county. Through a range of racial equity workshops and organizational development services, we help leaders and organizations create the necessary shift to become more anti-racist workplaces. We also sponsor book club events and courageous conversations series to continue the conversation. In partnership with the children's defense fund, in the summer of 2024, we launched westchester county's first freedom school. Due to the extreme success of the piloted program, in the summer of 2025 we will be hosting freedom school at two locations in westchester county. This program will be offered to children grades 1-4 to combat the summer learning loss while fostering leadership, literacy, and social responsibility.
