END MODERN SLAVERY INITIATIVE FOUNDATION

Survivor Engagement in the Human Trafficking Sector: GFEMS worked with funding from UK Home office-Modern Slavery Innovation Fund MSIF on a two-pronged effort to improve survivor engagement in the human trafficking sector. In one stream of activity we worked with survivor working groups and hosted World Congress event to advance collaborative survivor-led review and discussions of key issue areas. In the other stream we engaged with survivor advisors to help research institutions adopt recently developed standard operating procedures SOPs for survivor informed research. GFEMS worked with implementing partner organizations in the Kenya Freedom Fund hotspot to introduce them to the Funds framework for Meaningful Engagement for People with Lived Experience of modern slavery and provide technical assistance to each partner to improve and increase engagement of individuals with lived experience.
