Transit Referenda Campaign Gwinnett and Cobb Counties: AAAF led a diverse, multicultural coalition in support of the 2024 SPLOST transit referenda in Gwinnett and Cobb counties. The coalition included Georgia Conservation Voters, Southern Environmental Law Center, CASA, Georgia Youth Justice Coalition, GALEO, Working Families Party, and Cobb for Transit. Together, we executed a bilingual, multimedia campaign to reach voters through: 5 million impressions via social media outreach, 200,000 pieces of direct mail, 165,000 doors knocked, and 400,000 voters contacted by phone. Ultimately, the referenda did not pass, but we helped to educate our communities about the importance of investing in public transit services.

Expenses: $58K

Metro Atlanta Changemakers Fellowship Program (MAC): The Metro Atlanta Changemakers (MAC) Fellowship empowers emerging Asian American leaders to design and implement community projects focused on racial justice, immigrant rights, and economic equity. In 2024, fellows launched initiatives such as educational workshops on anti-Asian racism, cultural events celebrating AAPI identity, public discussions on senior healthcare, political education gatherings on banned books, and canvassing campaigns for public transit access. These creative, grassroots projects deepened civic engagement and sparked meaningful dialogue within the community.
