The security assistance monitor (sam) program is focused on enhancing transparency and oversight of an increasingly central u.s. Foreign policy tool: u.s. Foreign security aid and arms sales. By providing comprehensive u.s. Security assistance data and by conducting independent, data-driven research, the program seeks to inform and elevate the debate among civil society, journalists, scholars, and policy makers in the united states and abroad about the risks and best uses of u.s. Security assistance to improve human security.

Government affairs: this program develops and maintains constructive partnerships with key governmental officials as well as outside organizations and executes the policy priorities of cip.

General programs: our work spans six regions and covers issues ranging from u.s. Security assistance, nuclear disarmament, and corruption to climate change and emerging technology. Through research, convening, and strategic communications, we provide nuanced analyses and promote evidence-based policy solutions to address today's most urgent global threats.
