For Oak Cliff

Food justice: in 2024, for oak cliff distributed over $93,372 worth of food, accounting for 31,043 meals distributed. Of this total, 19,398 were lbs of fresh produce. Launched in 2022 as a collaborative effort by a group of concerned citizens, dallas county health and human services (dchhs), and parkland health, foc began the foc farmers marker to provide fresh, healthy, and affordable produce to the community. The market was also a platform for local growers to sell their goods and connect with the community. In 2024, we did our last year of the for oak cliff's farmers markets. In general they generated more than $50,000 in total sales that went directly to small, local businesses.(continued on schedule o)heart of harvest - during the holiday season, for oak cliff hosted a dinner and provided groceries to around 30 families in the community. Members left with a turkey, a produce bag with fresh fruits and vegetables, and a bag filled with dry goods.

Education: we believe in creating a culture that sets higher expectations for the education of our children. In order to create a true culture of education, we need to educate the adults and children alike. For oak cliff offers a variety of programs to do just that. Foc has a dual-generation approach, aiming to serve parents and children simultaneously through programs, events, and initiatives. The foc two-generation approach to education, employment, and wraparound services puts children and their parents on a path to self-sustainability that aims to pass from one generation to the next. Some of the programs include k-12 enrichment, lena start for families with children 0-3, a summer camp in partnership with dallas park & rec, and ged classes. Whether it's starr prep, tutoring, or after-school care, our community campus serves as a hub for our youth here in oak cliff.ged - the foc ged program prepares individuals to take the ged examination. The hope is to decrease the number of adults without a ged or the equivalent in the community. Our self-paced, integrated instruction is in the areas of science, reasoning through language arts, social studies, and mathematical reasoning.lena - (language environment analysis) is rooted in the belief that all parents/caregivers can support and unlock their children's social, emotional, and cognitive potential. Lena focuses on increasing interactive talk with toddlers because it has been proven to be a key factor in early brain development. Foc has a 10-week program engaging both the guardian and the child.
