The office of education and innovation provided professional learning, leadership and instructional coaching, curriculum review and redesign, interim leadership support and special education support to 29 charter and district schools serving over 22,000 students. In 2024, we provided virtual as well as in-person professional learning sessions to educators across the nation, serving thousands of teachers, school leaders, and afterschool educators. We also developed and implemented highly effective professional learning series to address the needs of paraeducators and expanded the range of special education and charter renewal support services. Our team designed and implemented highly successful, evidence-based learning recovery programs that served hundreds of students in charter and district schools in the greater philadelphia area. As a result of our high dosage tutoring programs, hundreds of students in schools that we served demonstrated notable gains in math and reading skills. Our office supported the design and development of instructional programs for numerous grant proposals and co-designed the "academy at penn", a college and career readiness model serving first generation college-bound high school students in philadelphia.

Foundations is the fiscal sponsor to the campaign for grade level reading (cglr). The mission of cglr is to disrupt the generational cycle of poverty by improving the prospects for early school success for children growing up in economically challenged, fragile and otherwise marginalized families.cglr advances this mission by focusing on two critical inflection points: grade-level reading by the end of third grade and, more recently, on-track development by the end of kindergarten. Research, practice and common sense confirm both as critical to the early school success that predicts later school achievement and high school graduation, the first rung of the "success sequence" leading to employment and earnings.
