Youth services: programs housed in youth services offer a variety of outreach and prevention services including: gorge youth mentoring, independent living, victims of crime act (voca), columbia gorge youth connections, youth outreach worker, bridges to health, summer youth employment program, family support and connections, systems of care, and native supports. Gorge youth mentoring offers one-to-one mentoring relationships for youth ranging from ages 6 to 20. Continued on schedule o. A community-based volunteer mentoring program, gorge youth mentoring seeks to increase school achievement and decrease substance abuse and violence amongst at-risk youth. The next door's independent living program teaches life skills to youth who are aging out of the foster care system. Voca offers case management and support services to teens who are victims of crime.in partnership with the hood river county school district and the white salmon valley school district, the next door provides a youth out-reach worker at hood river valley high school and columbia high school. The goal is to connect kids with the community resources they need to be successful. Bridges to health is another partnership, but with the columbia gorge health council. Bridges to health provides community care coordinators to connect with community residents, providing them with connections to resources needed to be healthy and successful. The summer youth employment program (syep) is a partnership with the oregon youth conservation corps and the u.s. Forest service. It provides short-term employment opportunities for young adults with little or no work experience in hood river and wasco counties.additionally, youth services houses family support and connections, an oregon department of human services funded home visiting program with the goal of keeping high-risk families out of the child welfare system. Systems of care coordinates service providers working to support children in the mid-columbia gorge region.native support services provides coordination of care and services as well as leadership development and policy advocacy for the native american community along the columbia river gorge.

Health promotion services: also known as nuestra comunidad sana (our healthy community), health promotion services offers culturally-appropriate health promotion and disease prevention services and leadership development to the latino community in the columbia gorge. Programs include mid-columbia health equity advocates (mchea); health promotion and chronic disease prevention (hpcdp); valle verde; advance directives (ad); drug free communities (dfc) odell hispanic coalition; hombres autorresponsables para parar el abuso (hapa); msfwoutreach; oregon worker relief fund; and columbia gorge pride alliancecontinued on schedule o. Mchea's goal is to train members of the latino and native american communites for leadership roles throughout hood river and wasco counties to help support their community involvement. Hpcdp, based on mchea groups, help makes environmental, systems, and policy changes related to tobacco reduction, healthy and nutritious foods, and exercise in our communities.valle verde is a mental and emotional health promotion program for community health workers and community member to increase awareness and decrease stigma in the latino community regarding topics of emotional wellness. Advance directives (ad) is an outreach campaign to raise awareness to our spanish and english communities in the gorge of the importance of having an advance directive.drug free communities (dfc) odell hispanic coalition is a leadership and drug prevention promotion coalition in the latino community. The next door inc. Acts as fiscal agent for this independent community coalition. Hombres autoresponsables para parar el abuso (hapa) is a domestic violence treatment for spanish-speaking perpetrators in hood river and the dalles. Msfw outreach is the coordination of efforts across the gorge to address the needs of migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Oregon worker relief fund is to support unemployed workers and small businesses to obtain financial assistance during covid-19.columbia gorge pride alliance provides a safe environment for lgbtqia2s+ in the gorge. From hosting pride parades in hood river and the dalles, to youth outreach, community partnerships, networking and educational opportunities, and more, pride alliance aims to bring together the lgbtqia2s+ community.

Family services: the next door is the local accredited provider of the national healthy families of america program. Healthy families is a home visiting program that provides education and support to higher-risk new parents in hood river, wasco, sherman, gilliam and wheeler counties. It is a nationwide program with proven success in preventing child abuse and neglect. Also included in this department is dolly parton's imagination library, which provides books once a month to children 0-5 years throughout a four county region in oregon.equity & outreach training services: programs under our fee-for-services program area include: diversity equity and inclusion workshops, focus group facilitation and research, equity assessments and language support. Diversity and equity training offers workshops on topics of diversity utilizing popular education methodology. Focus group facilitation and research offers support in planning, recruitment and facilitation of focus groups and listening sessions for the latino community. Equity assessments provice advice and guidance on equity-related changes for other organizations. Finally, language support offers plain language training for community partners and organizations and referrals for spanish interpretation and translation.economic development: promoviendo prosperidad (promoting prosperity) assists latino entrepreneurs and small business owners with opening or expanding their business. Assistance includes helping them apply for loans or develop a business plan and obtaining an individual development account (ida) in partnership with casa of oregon. Included in this program is the races (roots) community garden and greenhouse, which assists local farmers in growing and selling their produce at a community supported agriculture (csa) program and to the local food bank.
