To support lasting change in okcps that improves the quality of education for every student.

Support efforts to recruit & retain urban-ready teachers - through programs like the teacher pipeline program (tpp) and the urban teacher preparation academy (utpa) the foundation provides direct support to recruit and train teachers for employment with okcps. The tpp provides direct support for tuition, books and fees to train paraprofessionals employed with okcps. Utpa engages students who are in undergraduate teacher preparation programs at uco and express a desire to teach in okcps. The program provides mentorship and support through the latter half of the student's coursework and the first three years in the classroom.

Build advocates for okcps - the foundation builds community support and advocates for our schools through education and outreach efforts that highlight the impact and importance of strong public schools as well as the unique needs and challenges that okcps faces. Through programs like wall of fame and stars of education, we recognize trailblazing okcps alumni and champions, celebrate outstanding okcps educators and staff; and shine a light on remarkable students. The wall of fame awards dinner highlights inspirational stories of okcps alumni and stars of education recognizes outstanding teachers and principals in the district through the teacher of the year and principal of the year awards.
