Nb3fit nb3fit is a youth development and leadership program currently serving native american and tribal communities in new mexico. A core purpose of the nb3fit program is to get native youth healthy and active through sports, utilizing a curriculum focused on the nb3 foundation's four core areas of physical activity, healthy nutrition, youth development, and cultural connections. Nb3fit coaches teach about healthy food and nutrition so youth may make positive healthy lifestyle choices. The youth also learn leadership skills, incorporating cultural values where appropriate, including respect, self-persistence, teamwork, and self-discipline. This year, nb3fit saw a significant increases in all programs, with the organizations highest ever number of youth participants in nb3fit programs. Nb3fit sent teams to the usatf cross-country and track national championships and introduced new basketball and soccer leagues. The nb3 foundation youth golf team participated in several tournaments, including the nb3 foundation native youth golf championship.

Evaluation and research: nb3 foundation created an evaluation methodology that captures the essence of indigenous knowledge in a manner that was inherent to native communities' lived experiences and expertise. To enhance knowledge and decision-making the nb3 foundation applied various methods of evaluation and research in three areas: 1) organizationally; 2) nb3fit; and 3) community empowerment (grantmaking). With support from nike, inc., the erd team designed an evaluation strategy for native american youth sports programs and presented at the ak-chin indian community, gila river indian community, and salt river pima-maricopa indian community. To learn through local community, the nb3 foundation erd was one of twelve organizations to launch a new initiative in new mexico to plan and develop a prenatal to age three (pn-3) coalition of bipoc/alaana-led and focused organizations with a goal of bringing together organizations/leaders that represent the racial, ethnic and geographic diversity of the state and encompass multiple issue area priorities related to pn-3. Erd also presented at an international event, indigenous evaluation summit on february 22, 2024, the indigenous evaluation network hosted both in-person in canada and virtually. The nb3 foundation erd places a premium on indigenous youth and elders as primary leaders in the realm of indigenous evaluation practices. The objective of the presentation was to furnish valuable insights pertaining to the efficacy of the keeping track, a toolkit for indigenous youth program evaluation in supporting youth participation in evaluation.
