Voz Workers Rights Education Project

2. Leadership and education program vozs leadership and education program empowers members to lead campaigns, share knowledge, and shape community priorities. Our day laborer committee (dlc) facilitates monthly assemblies that drive political education, decision-making, and mobilization. In 2024, members participated in disaster preparedness workshops, and worker safety and environmental justice education. The emergency preparedness cohort trained 10 leaders in first aid, emergency response, and climate readiness, while also helping voz define our organizational environmental justice framework. As a worker-led organization, voz also piloted a new leadership model where one member took a hands-on role, co-leading our dispatch program for a month. Members advanced leadership beyond oregon - four voz leaders (including two youth) joined ndlons national asamblea in new york, returning to lead visioning sessions at voz. We strengthened partnerships with community allies, including pueblo unido, to support immigrant rights and help workers navigate the asylum process. With these efforts, voz is ensuring that immigrant workers are recognized as essential leaders in building a just, climate-resilient, and immigrant-affirming future.
