New project development: over the course of ncrp's work, it is important that the organization respond to any existing or current issues that have come to the forefront. This is part of the organization's strategy to set the sector debate and meet the moment. Ncrp will develop and incubate new ideas that can be shared with our partners and could become a dedicated body of work.

Expenses: $1.1M

Research: ncrp produces original research and analysis on grantmaking to movements and to organizations led by and serving communities with the least wealth, power, and opportunity, as well as opposition research. Fy2024 highlights included the release of a report on the role philanthropy should play in reckoning, healing, and reparations on racial harm; research to support ncrp's climate justice and abortion access campaigns; and new work documenting the funding undermining u.s. Democracy.

Expenses: $836K

Communications: ncrp sets high standards for the philanthropy sector, frames debates, and drives narrative change by sharing our own original research, analysis, resources, and other content, as well as by elevating relevant news and insights from across the sector. Communications channels include our e-newsletter, blog, social media, the responsive philanthropy online journal, and our earned media efforts.

Expenses: $674K

Membership: ncrp's work is grounded in the perspectives of grant seeking nonprofits and in elevating their calls to action to philanthropy. The membership program provided a structure for ncrp's relationships with nonprofit movement organizations, through which we gathered their insight and engaged them in our work to advocate with philanthropy.

Expenses: $617K

Marketing: ncrp raises its brand awareness with key audiences through use of earned media, paid advertising and social media platforms including linkedin, instagram, and bluesky.

Expenses: $14K
